We are looking for a full time Trust Manager
The more work we do in this area, the more we see that needs to be done and too often we are limited by the number of hours in the day.  So the NZHT has resolved to appoint a full time manager/administrator to oversee all aspects of the Trust's operations.  The work will include project management, media and political liaison work and dealing with industry and consumer communications.  The person we're looking for needs;

  • an interest in protecting health freedoms
  • an open and analytical mind
  • good organisation, written and oral skills
  • a high level of initiative
  • a confident and positive personality.

The position is based in Christchurch and offers excellent remuneration to the right person. If you're interested or know of someone who might be please apply in writing to the NZ Health Trust, PO Box 34057, Christchurch 8030.
Applications close 12 August 2005. MPS QUESTIONED ON NATURAL HEALTH STANCE With the election approaching we have written to all parties in Parliament and asked them to respond to 10 questions designed to clarify their stance on natural health issues. We hope to bring you their feedback in the next issue.

The last few months have seen interesting new developments in the worldwide battle to retain natural health freedoms which we have been monitoring closely. To hear about these developments and learn more about what you can do in the lead up to the election come along to public meetings in Auckland , Wellington & Christchurch with MPs and other speakers.  For dates, time and venue information click here  for the PDF, for those wanting another file format to use for email distribution , right click here and "save target as" for the jpg file.

Invitation to a Public Meeting 12.30pm, 11 August 2005 in Havelock North

Sue Kedgley will discuss the latest threats to our access to dietary supplements in New Zealand and what we can do about it.  Click here for more details

Refusal by the TGA and Medsafe to talk publicly about the proposed Joint agency have some wondering whether a gag order has come down from on high banning anyone from talking about this issue in the lead up to the election - maybe there is a concern that this issue will become too much of a political hot potato? For our Australian subscribers the NZHT website now includes now an Australian contact your MP facility allowing you to email your MP and tell them your concerns about the TGA proposal. We urge you to let your concerns be heard!  New Zealand experience has been that this is a very effective tool in the battle to save our supplements.  The site features a form letter you can use or customise as you wish, or you can write your own message. You will see the Australian link on the following page ?

As always this is a numbers game and so while we continue to work to defeat this proposal we would be grateful for you passing this newsletter and the details of our website to as many of your friends and colleagues as you can. Thank you for your support.
Kind Regards Dave Sloan
